President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Sheikh Abdul Majid has appealed to the government to provide funds to Immigration and Passport Department at earliest possible for ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of passports to the applicants. In a press statement issued on Monday evening he quoted the statement of Director General Immigration and Passport that there are about 0.2 million passport applications laying pending in the department due to lack of funds.

Sheikh Abdul said that members of business community face problem for fresh or renewal passports of for travelling purposes to business purpose. They said if situation remained the same they will face serious hardships. The SCCI President urged upon the Ministry of Finance to take action for the provision funds to Immigration and Passport Department enabling to deliver passports to the applicants on time.
